Brie aged 18, was born in Hamilton but has spent most of her life in the famous small town of Raglan, New Zealand.
It all began when her father took her to the popular Ngaranui beach and pushed her into her first wave at just 11 years old. From that day on she found a real love and passion for surfing. That year she entered her first national surfing competition and placed 3rd! This was a sign of great things to come!
Brie showed her parents her dedication, discipline, and determination, going out in the middle of winter in a spring suit, bearing the cold water determined to improve her surfing. In 2015 Brie won the NZ Surfing Nationals U14 girls title, and took out the majority of her competitions that year.
In following years of Brie competing on the New Zealand competitive circuit, success continued to arise: she won multiple national competitions, was selected to represent the Waikato region, and she was a part of the Olympic training squad. In both 2018 and 2019 she was selected to represent New Zealand in the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in Hunington Beach, California.
Brie's longterm goals are to make a career out of surfing by qualifying for the World Surf League. Since surfing has now been named as a part of the Olympics so she hopes to qualify for the 2024 Olympic games!
